The Illinois State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (SEOW) improves the availability, quality, and use of data to drive decisions. Comprised of data experts that oversee major state-level data systems and with broad-based representation from Illinois state agencies including human services, education, state and local health departments, and higher education, the SEOW brings a technically accurate and practical perspective to discussions of data quality and interpretation.

Be a resource for collaboration among Illinois state and local agencies that conduct studies, gather data and disseminate research and reports regarding substance use, its reduction and prevention, and its consequences at the state level.

Increase the availability of information for members of youth and adult substance use prevention or treatment agencies or coalitions, its consequences, and its impact on other health behaviors in the state of Illinois.

Be a clearinghouse for the dissemination of information regarding consumption by and contributing factors for youth and adult substance use with a special emphasis on patterns of disparities among various populations.
